American Doorstop Project debut Born to Rein trailer

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. A documentary trailer made its debut within a Scottsbluff theatre this morning.

The Midwest Theatre hosted the American Doorstop’s Project to give the Panhandle a first look into their trailer for their new upcoming documentary film, Born to Rein, which will be used as a tribute to Nebraska’s National Thoroughbred Horse Racing Trainers and Breeders.

“We want this to be a community collaboration,” said Jody L. Lamp, Producer of Born to Rein. “We want people to feel like they can be a part of this story and that they have a stake in the story because they are Nebraskans so we should all be excited about these Nebraskans that helped put a national spotlight on our state.”

The film is aiming to capture the remarkable, untold and forgotten stories about Nebraska’s role in horse training and breeding which will spotlight John A. Nerud of Minatare, with father and son duo Marion and Jack Van Berg of Columbus and Grand Island, Nebraska.

“It is this area and regions story,” said Melody Dobson, Producer for Born to Rein. “We love doing the work and we love presenting it but we love for the community to know it’s their story to be proud of."

The film is set to be released in year 2019 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of America’s First Triple Crown Winner Sir Barton.
